One for the VCDS boys

Featured Replies

Anybody know how to set the ASR default to "off" instead of active ?

Its a PITA constantly turning it off

I think I remember reading it can't be done, even with VCDS. Something to do with 'safety'. Can you not just pull the fuse? (Put it back in for MoT)

But which fuse ? Kinda think the MBQ platform won't be that easy !

By using VCDS:

1. Go to 03 ABS Brakes

2. In Long Coding the last Byte is 2

3. If you change just the last number you will get different options under ESC system in the SETUP MENU in infotainment system:

9: Activated / ASR off / ESC sport

6: Activated / ESC sport / ESC off

7: Activated / ASR off / ESC off

I made it "9: Activated / ASR off / ESC sport", and I think it's the best option.

You can disable permanently for track use, but you have to effectively flash the controller.

If you do what I described above, and you code last byte as 9, you can select from your infotainment system in the setup ESC Activated, ASR off or ESC sport whenever you like.

I know, mine is like that :) but themanwithnoaim wanted to alter the behaviour so that it stays off when you turn the ignition off and back on again

Yeah, Andy's got it in one, I'm just not keen on the artificial feel of the so-called driving aids.
