Cup Holders

Featured Replies

Until last Tuesday I was the owner of a face lifted Felicia. This cars main advantage over my previous pre-face lift felicia was the inclusion of 3 cup holders (2 at front in front of gear stick, and one at rear behind hand brake).

I have just bought an Octavia 1.6LX and while I love the car in general its total lack of cup holders is a nuisance. Has anyone come across add on cup holders?

Think you can get them in Halfords.

Does it really have no cupholders? My 1.6 has one in the ashtray behind the handbrake, and a folding one between the driver's seat and the handbrake.

Rob.

the folding one is a waste of space.......if you're driving and have a Mucky D's large Coke in there, it get's in the way when changing gear and using the handbrake.

Yeah, it's also not much use if you wear a bulky coat or have a wide @rse... :D

I find drinking down a few inches then wedging it in the door pocket works best!

HAd a look, it has a folding cup holder (seems very flimsy) in the ash tray behind the handbrake, but does not seem to have one between the seat and handbrake. Perhaps that was added when they face lifted the Octavia in 2000. Still I suppose I cant complain as I got the car (re Sept 1999) for

Yeah, I never use the ashtray-mounted cup holder due to it not being very good.

More than likely the extra one was added at the facelift, though I'm not sure if the Classic trim has them or not...

Absolute bargain of a car that you've got there though! :D

Rob.

Aha, another great thing about the armrest.... :D

If you put something in the (less than perfect) foldy cupholder, you can then fold the armrest down on it to wedge it in!

Ian - Are you on commission with Skoda UK on armrests? :p

Heh, no, just (one of the few) someone that thinks its a great addition, a lot of people keep it folded up all the time, I couldn't be without it.

All you people allow food and drink in your cars? Sorry, it just doesn't seem right...

I'm not opposed to the occasional bottle of coke etc in the car (specially when hammering through Wales at high velocity ;) )

But NFW would a McD's drink or ANY variety of foodstuff be allowed into the passenger cabin of my car.

I went ballistic a few weeks back when my sister gave her little lad a mars bar in the back seat

If they want to eat in the car, they can buy the damn thing off me !

Jeez, a Mars bar. Thats just...it's just...it's so...wrong!

I gave a lift to a colleague the other day who asked me if they could finish a cigarette in the car. Anyway, after I'd buried the body......

Yes, as my car is much more a workhorse than it is a toy! That said, I don't have kids and if I'm with the missus she usually makes me stop for things like eating, so I allow myself to eat food and drink in the car...which doesn't seem so bad... :D

There's another cup-holder?

All I've ever seen is the folding one in the ashtray at the back.

There is... but it came in with MY 2002 along with the flick key.

But I don't have a flick key, yet do have the folding cup holder next to the handbrake. And pre-facelift rear light clusters!

Rob.

Got two flick key fobs but only one cup holder  Don't care anyway as I don't believe in drink driving :p

If you open up the ashtray at the end of the gearbox console (near rear seats), it can double up as a cupholder too.

That's the only one I've been able to find.

Looks rubbish but works nicely with a 330ml can.

You don't have the black rectangle between the handbrake and driver's seat that opens up when you push it?

Rob.

Well I dont have a black rectangle just a long thin nook, which can old a few coins!

Ah, yes, the coin holder that doesn't like pound coins...

Rob.

Obviously VAG's decision was based on the chance that the UK would join the Euro zone. Dutch, do Euro coins fit in the coinholder? If they do, well, it's all a big conspiracy isn't it?

Any Rover drivers out there? I bet their coinholders fit anything from a ha'penny to a proper size 50p.

Snickers, what's that all about...?

And we used to be able to leave our doors unlocked.
