Replacing rear number plate bulbs

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I intended to change my rear number plate bulbs with LED,s. But when I replace them with can us error free LED bulbs! they don't work!! I have have used these on both my vRS and Monte, inside and out. Any idea why these don't work ?

Many thanks

Steve

Where are your bulbs from? I've a set from Superskoda, just need the car to go with them now!!! Ha ha!!

The new Octy is picky about so called can-bus friendly led bulbs, many people failed with them.

The perfect solution is coding the car with vag-com sw (VCDS) to accept LED bulbs and use non can-bus compatible LEDs. In this case you don't have to worry about the extra heat generated by the paralell resistors which try to fool the system.

Coding needs to be done before actually replacing the bulbs.

The genuine Skoda led lights (000052110) are available from around £4 (+delivery) each from Skodadop, if you code the car to take LEDs with VCDS that is about the most OEM setup you will get.

They are angled to light up the number plate. done to death in a previous thread but then the OEM lights were not available so cheap

Makes it a bit of a no-brainer in my book
