vRS O/S/F Drop Link Replacement

Featured Replies

Purchased a Meyle drop link [Part No 116 060 0000/HD] to replace the off side front on my MK1 vRS.

Do I need any specific tools to replace this ?

Nothing beyond a basic socket/spanner set and an allen or torx set (depends on what you existing links/new links have).

Grinder may help depending on your mood and how long the existing links have been on.

They are just the oem links that are on at the moment

Do I need a spanner to hold the link while I undo the nut on the link ?

That's where the Allen or torx bit comes in (as I said, depends on brand etc some have one some have the other)... you stick it in the end of the 'bolt' part of the link and use a spanner to undo the nut.

If its been on a while it could be full of crud or corroded so badly you'll never get a good hold on it... that's where the grinder may come in handy.
