turbo upgrades?

Featured Replies

As I got told today my turbo is sticking so the boost only kicks in around 15-1700 rpm so the possibility is either an upgrade or possible refurb ? But I am looking at the idea of a hybrid but im a novice at all this so any opinions are much apreciated

Please provide your engine details

Possibly sticky veins, might be worth taking it out and giving it a good clean just a thought

If you've got a diesel give the guys at Derv_Tech a shout. Tell them Harry sent you they'll give you a good discount.

Do they do a turbo clean service ?   Or, does anyone know a North West palce that will.

Got a 60 plate Octavia 1.6 CR, goes into limp mode a couple of times a month -   best cure, once it is warmed up -  is to cut power with car in nuetral at about 40 (on a straight road, obvs) and jump start it in 3rd gear - works every time, then OK.   Forte cleaner used twice, stops it for a couple of weeks then it is sticky again.

From what I have read, it has a clogged turbo - but beyond me to do the Mr Muscle clean - hard to get to and I am not a DIY car person.     It just seems a massive gap between 'clean it yourself (if you can ) for under a tenner, or buy a refurb/new one for £500 upwards.
