I dont suppose you have the boot carpet, if so is the rearmost section that lifts up with a strap still rigid?

I don't believe they are rigid (i.e have a piece of board under) even from the factory.  I have two spare carpets and one in the car I am using, and none have rigid piece there.

Mines got MDF underneath the carpet,  where the plasticene moulding is its rigid but right at back its started sagging as there's nothing under it to support it.

That's how they are from factory. All mine are the same. Would like to be proved wrong.

no sorry left it in when i scraped the shell including main carpet as nobody wants cream carpet or boot linner/carpet ..

sold them both  last  week sorry but they  were mint no dents or rust ..have all 4 doors & boot lid left if u need ?..
