I've had a search but it won't let me search for 'oil 1.4 Tdi' as each word is less than three letters!

 

Anyway, I've read a bit about the correct oil being essential in this engine so....

 

What is the best oil and best 'on a budget but still acceptable' oil for the wife's shopping chariot?

OK. Well having done my own search i came up with the 5w30

But having just got the old haynes out it reads

Standard (distance/time) service interval multigrade oil. Sae 5w40 to 20w/50

Longlife (variable)service interval. Skodalonglife oil ( 506.00 or better.
