Door handle pulls off

Featured Replies

The offside rear door handle trim popped off when the car was a week old.

It was fixed by the dealer; now 12 months down the line the same handle pulled clean off one day. The dealer again repaired it and it has lasted less than a week before happening again.

Just wondering if this is a common fault - I compared with the other 3 handles, but they all seem a little wobbly - not sure if this is the root cause or not.

New one to me. The handles do have some free play, so that's not the issue. I would suggest a new handle trim as the lugs that hold it place might be malformed.

Very interesting that no one else seems to have had this. It's booked into the dealer again for a service.

"We''ll bring it back into the workshop for a look" I had to virtually shout down the phone "This has now happened 3 times, can you go and talk to the mechanic who looked at it last time and order any parts necessary". Probably did no good but hey ho.
