Change DPF Sensor + Calibrate = £456?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I emailed a garage in Bucks asking them to change the DPF Sensor (I already have the part, bought for £80 odd) and run the necessary calibration. I mentioned that the sensor is visible but quite low out of reach so couldn't be done by someone I took it to just on the roadside.

"We would charge around 4 hours @ £95.00+VAT = £456.00 "

I got this quote and was quite shocked - is this to be expected?

I look forward to any advice, thanks all.

I would email a few other dealers and compare?

£114 an hour.

Nah.

I owned a 1.6 TDI for about 18 months. During that time I called upon Skoda assistance to view a problem. They identified a dpf sensor failure.

They had a sensor on their van, which was fitted within an hour.

Your dealer speaks with a forked (inexperianced) tongue!

Hope this helps
