Sat Nav 0-60

Featured Replies

I Was Wondering, is there a peice of software for the Pocket Pc (Windows Mobile 5) that can test your 0-60/0-100/Top Speed E.T.C?

I doubt it would be accurate because the GPS doesnt update fast enough.

Sat nav will give you a very accurate speed, but as Goochie says it will not do so instantly. However it will tell you how accurate your speedo is. Drive on a motorawy or dual carriageway at a constant speed (need a reasonably straight bit). After a few seconds compare speedo with sat nav speed. Mine is about 6% to 8% too high

Was thinking about this too, but the update speed issue scuppers it really. Does anyone know of a program (preferable freeware) that just gives basic GPS info on a Pocket PC - compass direction, altitude, perhaps current speed? Would quite like the altitude info the most, always nice to know and TT5 doesn't display it :)

i Remember with my mini-ixt running a satnav software gave me alt. lat. speed. etc.

Speed on speedo read 70mph, but speed according to satnav would be 67mph/ish.

But GPS is only good to a couple of meters, so there will be some inperfections on actually speed..

If you are travelling on the flat in a straight line and at a constant speed GPS is accurate to 0.1mph, according to the experts here www.pocketgpsworld.com. It is ceratinly much more accurate than your speedo is likely to be.
