Columbus RNS 510 Upgrade in Octavia MK2

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I currently have the Standard Swing radio in my Octavia MK2(2009).

I am looking forward to upgrade the same to a Columbus RNS 510.

I was told by the guy fitting it that I would require a different Fascia for it as the Columbus RNS 510 is a different shape.

Could anyone guide me in the right direction, As to whether I require a different Fascia as well as what would be the part number. It would also be great if anyone could tell me where I can buy it from - the one's on eBay don't match (of the one's I've seen so far...)

You can get them from your local skoda dealer, I don't know the part number but someone will be along to give it to you.

The dealer is as cheap as anywhere else to get it plus they should find the exact one you need.

I got the plain black one (as that's what mine was to start with) and it cost about £8 from the dealer! The silver and brushed aluminium ones are going on to about £40.

Silver and brushed aluminium ones are nearer £60 for Mk2.

Can't you just get a black one and spray it

You could if you wanted it to look nasty

Why? People seem to do pretty good jobs of painting their grills etc. why not a piece of trim. Potentially saving £50 or so?

Did they have it in stock or did you have to place a special order?
