Recall for "enhancement"

Featured Replies

I got a call out of the blue from my dealer yesterday telling me that they were contacting customers about a Skoda "enhancement" for my car.  I asked what it was and initially he didn't know but did confirm it couldn't be a serious safety recall or I'd have heard in writing direct from Skoda UK.

I liked the sound of "enhancement" and I was trying to avoid getting excited - could this be an unexpected but desperately needed enhancement to the Bolero sound system?  Or if not that, perhaps some other little new feature that I could enjoy - as often happens when an app on my phone or iPad gets updated?

He called me back after checking and told me it resolved some issue with the indicators.   I suggested leaving it until the next service in about November but he said it ought to be done sooner than that, which makes me think it is a safety issue - if only a minor one.

Sadly not really an enhancement at all - just a fix for a problem I didn't know I had.

All in all, rather disappointing!

Must be a VAG new term, like the Service Campaign they frequently use, rather than get labelled with recalls.

I had an "Enhancement" a few weeks ago - relating to re-bonding of my Golf''s rear spoiler side strips.

cHeers, just checked at the dealers, nothing outstanding on mine

Don't you mean enhancement :D

I think its a fix for the problem with cruise control dropping out sporadically. Mine hasn't failed since the update.

Anyone had "Enhancements" on their 2013 models?

My car is booked in for it's 2nd service and I asked if any updates etc were due on it and the dealer claimed not.

I just got back from having my car "enhanced" while I waited.

I'm still not entirely clear what it was but the only really noticeable difference is that the car is now clean inside and out, which is I suppose an enhancement of sorts!

Always decline the clean after servicing as their brushes etc more than likely are full of grit. Prefer to clean my own car rather than chance it coming back looking like it has been cleaned with sandpaper.

Mine had the indicator stalk replaced at my first service back in January.

They said it was a recall. Mine wasn't faulty, but they put in a new one anyway.

It sounds like that's the same thing - he said on the phone that it was something to do with the indicators.
