waring light high light bend function

Featured Replies

Hey guys when I start my car I get a warning light saying headlight bend function refer to owners manual ?only start happening since I got car back from machanic .. IM wondering did he disturb a sensor on headlight while changing timing belt or am I just unlucky that another sensor has blowing in my car

It is quite common after lifting the car on a non-four post lift (where the suspension is left to hang at it's maximum travel) that the sensors attached to the suspension can pop-off.

These sensors monitor the cars ride height to allow the bi-xenon headlights to automatically adjust themselves.

There have also been reports of moisture ingress on the headlights which causes the little motors inside to seize up, however with the problem only happening after a trip to the garage I'd check the sensors first.

They look like this (picture of a MkII Octavia - but the Superb is very similar), there is one each on the front and rear suspension.

Sorry to bring back up an old post but since yesterday.ive being getting that same warning again about the headlights this time I have checked the.connection and they look good whats my next step?

Do a scan with VCDS as that should give you some clues where to look.

Damaged level sensors are common and at least one member here had issues with water ingress at the control module under the headlamp. Still, s scan is still the best starting point :)

I had the control rod snap recently but that didn't throw an error.

Where abouts are you as a local member may be able to help with VCDS if you don't have it.
