The What Car Did You Ditch For The Skud Top Ten

Featured Replies

As of March 1st 05, I shall no longer be the not-so-proud owner of a 51 Reg Ford Ka (poverty spec model). Instead, I shall be wearing a smug grin whilst driving a red, non-modded Fabia Vrs. The new "Beast" will be an absolute bargain, as got a cracking deal from Horners in Bury.

p.s. does anyone know where to get the door handles done so they match the body paintwork?

Congrats, you'll love it :P

For the coding, personally I think the black handles make a nice contrast against the red. Anyway, Chips Away might do them for you. Cheaper might be to find a local paint and repair place.

Steve

Hmmmm have owned lots of cars but the car I had directly before the Octy was... a Smart Silverstar (0.6 turbo :D )

I shall be gladly changing on the 19th from a saxo vtr which pales into insignificance after driving my new baby, a vRS.

I should start keeping score again... But not now!

Escort Mk3 back in '92 bought a Favorit new for

Traded in a V reg Fiesta Zetec for my Octy vRS...............no contest really in which I prefer :D

mk2 172 for the vrs

Rover 214i 3dr 8v

It is not missed, despite 8 years of sterling service.... I now have air-con, central locking, estate with 5 doors, 4x4, Power steering, decent engine, acceleration, trip computer, heated mirrors... the list goes on

v reg Proton Satria GTi 16v. Nice car, but depreciated terribly. Skoda much better build quality. I reckon 140bhp PD TDi Octy easily as quick :P

A Renault Clio 03 reg, 1.2 16v Billabong. Poor build quality in it.

I'm sorry  I thought special edition clio's were called things like 'extreme' and 'dynamique' not Billabong

Ignore me ;)

Rover Mini Cooper, fantastic handlig, but at 6'1'' I was getting out of the thing deformed after anything more than 10 minutes

spanner i did the same changed up from a vtr to a octy vrs.... i love winding the saxo's up now!!! lol!!

Past 3 cars have been Peugeot's before the fabia vrs. The last being a 306 dturbo with all optional rattles dash etc. I p/x'd as it started knocking when pushed despite having FSH and being serviced every 6k for the 2 years I owned it, it also needed 4 tyres, cat & was due cambelt, so couldn't be a**ed doing plus was looking at replacement anyway. I was similar to Col (NeoVr) in that I went to buy a Ibiza 130 sport, which was at a skud dealer and after looking decided to ask for a test drive of the fab vrs & was hooked had mine within 2 weeks.

I downgraded my Lada Niva to A fab VRS

:-)

@siu01rjg - still think it's the right move ;)

Rover 75. Kept needing to be fixed. Swapped for a VRS
