Exhaust emission warning light

Featured Replies

Please help. This has just come on today. It doesn't go out as usual after starting up car. No noticeable loss in performance or power loss etc. I have a 500 mile drive in next few days and am now worrying. I will try to get it looked at but is there any damage I could do by driving it in the meantime. There is a local Skoda garage nearby I could take it to for a look or is it something my normal mechanic could sort (or another local garage once I get to my parents house) thanks...

Did you overfill the tank past the first click?

I got this light and a error code implying a sticky valve in the charcoal canister a couple of times after brimming the tank.

I stopped going past the first click and it didn't comer back.

If it doesn't go out you'll probably need to get the car scanned for errors.

No I only filled the tank 3/4 full. I've driven 300 miles fine, left it standing for two days and come to it this morning showing this warning light :-(

Mine did this not long after having the car. Was due to a leaking charcoal canister.

Mine emission lamp flashed up and had to replace a pipe assembly with a one way valve in under the inlet manifold all good since £29 +vat a common fault apparently in my case cured it
