Splitting headlights.

Featured Replies

Evening all,

Has anyone ever split headlights on a pre fl? (By splitting I mean removing the lense from the backing.)

How did you do it & then how do you re-seal them?

Thanks

There's a video on YouTube, I found it by chance about 2 years ago. I've looked for it but can't seem to find it.

I once split the glass away from a fog light on a Mazda. They are glued together, but if you soften up the glue, I used a heat gun, you can carefully prise them apart. Put it back together again with glue and sealant to keep the water out. I would have thought headlights are the same. The internet should give you the right info though.

as above. I did the same with Honda Civic headlights. Hair dryer or easier a heat gun and slowly melts the glue to enable you to prise it apart.

Id expect most units to be the same but best get info from someone whose done it to clarify

people said the same with the civic. No way i'd put my headlights in the oven. That method was for lazy people really lol
