VCDS can't enable Driver Alert System

Featured Replies

certainly seems to point that way doesn't it? and now we're wondering why my car controls all light up even when the lights are off. Gotta love these cars

  • Its supposed to take data from the steering angle sensor and ESC system and using some algorithm determines when it thinks you are tired. It no doubt factors time into that equation too. I've got it

  • I've just had a look, and yes, I have the 'Driver Alert System' option in the settings. It can also be enabled/disabled too. I suspect something to be amiss if yours doesn't turn on/off.

  • Have you got the log that was kept open during all of the coding session so you have a record of all the changes? What version of VCDS was being used?   If you have the log, PM it to me and I'll ha

Can I check with anyone with a MY16 vrs that they have the option for Driver Activity Sensor? I have checked 2 other cars.

2013 vrs has the option

MY16 SE L has the option

MY16 vRS (mine) NO Option :(

My MY16 VRS doesn't have an option for that

So same as me?

Can you tell me what options you have under the driver assistance settings in car settings?

Here you go

See what happens after the dealer turns transport mode off properly on the BCM if the error code won't clear after going in to 09 and clearing it from there

H Andy has suggested on pm that clearing the fault the way I did it might not work . I will have a go another route and see if that works

Here you go

See you enabled traffic sign recognition! And you only have lane assist and traffic sign as those 2 options.

But only had lane assist before

Ok, I think the driver activity sensor option came on when we were messing about with traffic sign recognition. But if you successfully turned it on without the rogue option then maybe I should try it again.

So it seems that the fatigue sensor is missing on at least 2 MY16 vrs. Any more?

its a fairly pointless thing anyway, I think it has only come on once on my MY14 model.

I did tell him that  :D

I did tell him that :D

We should all listen to you more!

According to the brochure (which is always right LOL) SE & upwards have fatigue detection as standard.

I'd be back to the dealer asking why there is a fault code for transport mode that won't clear and where is the fatigue detection setting in the infotainment?

What value is against this adaptation channel on 5F

Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_weariness_recognition

maybe they have removed the option to turn it on or off in the MY16 models?

No I actually think it's missing, we managed to turn on the option in the MIB2 but then when we pressed that it said the function was not available. We thought it was the coding but Andy has double checked and it's OK. And when we removed the traffic sign recognition the option in the MIB2 disappeared.

I'll get together with Iamholam soon and check out that value you've asked for Andy.

There were errors that appeared last night, not sure what they relate to and whether they are linked to the transport mode.

then in the summary it said 5F-Information Electr. -- Status: Malfunction 0010

but when you go to the part of the log where 5F is detailed it says no fault code found

odd

The fault on the climate is normal, the car is trying to stop the battery being flattened.

Clear the others and see if they come back, they are more than likely caused by the HBA and TSR changes you made.

Update VCDS as well :)

What else did you code using vcds? Anything you recommend?

I only did HBA, cornering fogs and TSR, mirror dip is useless as it never goes back where it came from in my experience!

If I do tsr, should hopefully get to the same result as you.

Mirror goes back 90 per cent of the time, if it doesn't then flicking the switch from l to o does the trick

Yep, 90% isn't good enough in my view
