vRS Estate Rear Mud Flaps

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have read on other posts how the standard mud flaps will fit the RS models with some hot water to soften them.  I plan to buy mud flaps from superskoda however the rear ones say limo models (Not RS, Not Scout)  Based on other posts the RS bit is not really an issue, however I can't find anywhere selling Estate Mudflaps, most just say Octavia III rear mudflaps.  so is there different mud flaps (like there is for the Rapid) or will the limo ones fit the estate?

Also is the cargo netting the same for both the estate and hatch?

Thanks

Chris

The 'hard to get screw' can be easily put in with one of the heads from a multi'screwdriver and some adjustables

Or a ratchet spanner, I've got them on my VRS estate. Just bought them off superskoda

I've got them, but not fitted yet. I didn't get a spare wheel kit and so will be trying to fit without taking the wheels off. Is it essential to drill the extra hole, or will the two existing screw fitments suffice? Any one fitted these with some top tips? Anything gratefully received. Cheers.

I have both the rear mud flaps and the boot net on my TDI vRS Estate. Rear mud flaps are fine an there is no need to drill (you only need to drill the fronts)

Boot net is also great. I have them spread over the left and right sides of the boot (rather than across the boot)

All 4 corners have the standard flaps (dealer supplied). I fitted them. Been on over a year. The Vrs is slightly lower, which is why Skoda say no. However it's only if you reverse upto some kerbs where the problem lies, same with all rear flaps really. Well worth fitting.

Thanks guys,

It seems that there is only one set of back mud flaps for the Octavia and not different ones for the Wagon/Estate/Combi and the Hatch/Limo.  So there is no reason for Superskoda to say limo on the rear mud flap description.

MK12MKD - I did read that post, google found it for me and that is how I initially found this forum.  I was just a bit concerned as nobody actually said the Octavia Estate and Hatch mudflaps are the same.

Sorry for being pedantic but I wanted to make sure before ordering because depending on the item postage to Australia is about the same price.  So no sending them back

I plan to order mudflaps, cargo netting and rear bumper protector for both the Rapid and the Octavia.  And the ice scrapers as we don't get them here and they seem like a cool idea.

Thanks

Chris

Iamholam cheers for that. Will be fitting soon so will hopefully be easy enough. I've got fronts too, so will see about the drilling too.

If you have Octy estate/ combo with raised floor the nets don't fit.

Hi there, I bought a set of the O.E. mud flaps for my current Octy mk3 vrs estate but never got round to fitting them! I'm waiting for my new vrs diesel estate to arrive in a couple of months and was definitely going to fit them. But, I'm sure I read somewhere that on VWs there had been corrosion issues with mudflaps where dirt/grit was being trapped between paintwork and mudflaps. IIRC I think the post said that some form of gasket was being advised to be fitted between paintwork and mudflaps. Anyone had problems with this or heard of this? From experience of fitting these these mudflaps in my mk2 vrs hatch, your sills and rear bumper still get dirty and the underside of the rear bumper still ends up feeling as rough as sandpaper from all the stones and grit. I was wondering whether a set of the black rally-style mudflaps might be better for coverage/protection but I don't want the car to look tacky!

Fitted mine yesterday, front and back. Wheels on too. Fairly easy once I'd figured out which grips to use on the rears. Fronts were easy as putting the wheels on full lock allowed plenty of access for the screws and the two drilled bits. Happy with the result. Had factory guards on my MK4 golf GTI and always thought they added a little something. Same can be said for these on the VRS. Thanks all for the advice.
