Mud flaps on a new vrs definitive!

Featured Replies

Hi guys, just waiting to get my new vrs estate in race blue, yawn, tick tock, and was asked by the dealer if i wanted the mats and flaps deal @120£ extra. I said no, then thought about it, but i cannot find any decent photos of an estate with these fitted. The light is bad on most photos, or to far away or blurred etc. i do not want to ruin the look of the car, but also id like to improve it if poss?

Can anyone with the flaps post up some good pics here so i can make me mind up once and for all?!

Thanks in advance.

I would check if Mk3 vRS' come with mats as standard. My Mk2 vRS did

Also, if it helps...the front and rear flaps are easily fitted ...but looked pants on the vRS MK2...IMO

(Savings to be made by buying seperate if you want)

Thanks Chris. I seem to have posted this a few times.

Ive got both. Just havent fitted yet. When i get an hour to jack it up and fit it. Ill have before and after photos.

I'm awaiting my vrs hatch also in race blue.

According to my order/spec sheet front and rear mats are standard. £120 for mud flaps is a bit steep IMO, surely they can be sourced cheaper from somewhere other than main dealer?

I'd be interested to see what they look like fitted too.

Top man

Vrs comes with carpet mats as standard.  They are OK, not amazing.

I got rubber mats for the winter, and flaps, on line.   Flaps from Horton's iirc, think mats from super Skoda.

Any fitted pics? Thanks

As ChrisRs has already pointed out, e-bay.

I bought mine from there, £45 for the front and rear, and yes the rears do fit a VRS despite what the brochure says.

I'll try and get a couple of photo's in a bit, and it's a race blue hatch so fyingpigvrs you can see exactly how the look.

I'm very glad I fitted them now, as the local council decided to resurface a couple of roads around by me with the horrible loose chippings type, so they at least provide a tad of protection for the sides of my car!

As promised.

Hope they help.

Andy.

€28/£20 for front and rear mudflaps on Superskoda.

I agree with llandai its a no brainer if you want mudflaps you'd be very foolish or very rich to buy them from a uk source

The flaps and Mats pack is usually the rubber floor mats, rubber boot liner and mud flaps

Perfect Andy, just what i was looking. Thank you. Im not overly worried about the cost, probably would get them myself if i like them. They look good on your Car Andy and dont detract from the looks, in my opinion.

Cheers

Considering it's £32 a pair from dealers same with the rubber boot liner £60 odd quid from dealer £30 odd from super skoda

Mudflaps look good and almost unnoticeable even on white car and they are a must if you want to keep your car clean and without scratches.

After I fitted mudflaps I get no more dirt behind the wheels at all, and I use to get hell of a lot.

Yea i agree, i had them on my old white octavia, but looking at 99.9 % of the mk3 pics they dont have them. I was just wondering if they looked odd, was there a reason etc. some more pics with mud flaps would be great. Anyone?

I didnt take the mud flaps as I didnt like the look, its purely a personal preference though

Any issues with the flaps scraping off speed bumps or the ground in he lower VRS? I am still undecided whether to get them when I put in an order to superskoda...

So far I've had no issues with speed humps and they've been on the car for 3 weeks now, certain parts of Telford and Gloucester (I go there quite often) are speed hump city.

I reverse my car onto a set of ramps yesterday to fit a rear diffuser, and again the rear flaps came no where near making contact.

The reason I've fitted them is because I never had them on my Mk1 VRS, and the bottom edge of the front wing behind the wheel took a  hammering, also the leading edge of the rear wheel arch was peppered with stone chips.
