surprising webuyanycar quote!

Featured Replies

Last week I got a quote for my Octavia from webuyanycar and was pleasantly surprised. Then today I got an email saying they have revalued it at an extra £115? Is this just a ploy to get you to go for it?

The price was close to what I'd expect to get selling private and a hell of a lot more than the PX I was offered.

So has anyone used them, got what they offered or do they do a lot of tyre kicking to get the quote down? At the moment I am seriously thinking of the offer now and get a banger until I get my new car hopefully end of November. I can see the appeal over selling it privately.

In my case it was a ploy.

Quoted £25.5k for my last S4. When I got there, they didn't even look at it, but had a price of £20.5k on the screen in the office. The guy said lets have a look at your car then!

He just said they sometimes have discrepancies between the online & real quotes! Lets just say he never left his office to look at my car.

Cheers, 5k in your case is a hell of a difference... I will keep this in mind if I do follow up on it.

Ww sold an XC70 ( 07 plate ) to WBAC and we too were suprised how good the offer was, we took the offer and money in the Bank within 2 days.

All depends on your local buyer

Some good,others not so

Thats why theres differing views on these

Basically, they value your car on the day and the sales guy gets paid a % on the difference between online price and real purchase price

I walked from our local one and never again!

Like most things forewarned is forearmed :) I was genuinely shocked at how they could publish one price online and a totally different one when you arrived at the office.

I sold ot back to the main Audi dealer 2 days later for £25k, so know the price was about right for a trade cash purchase.

They made a tidy profit from it too :(

OK thanks, so agreed the online is a guide price depending on who you deal with and they have kicked the tyres....

to be honest they are very crafty with the wording (no mention of guaranteeing the price).

About your Valuation
  • We guarantee we are willing to buy every car we value
  • Your money will be paid via secure bank transfer
  • Completion of your vehicle sale may be subject to a transaction fee*
  • Your valuation is guaranteed for 7 days
Your valuation is based on up to date market conditions and the information you have provided about your vehicle.

Used them for our old Fiesta, they knocked a few quid off but nothing massive, paid nice and quick, easier than a private sale for sure.

Got a quote from them for the Multipla, went to the local garage who service the car and they matched the price no questions.

No £49 admin fee, no 50 mile round trip to WBAC (to then get buggered about on the price no doubt)

The only downside is the months of internet adverts and reminders you have to put up with.

Another reason I think I have got a higher quote than expected... all valuation searches with my reg No. come up as a DSG not manual!

I sold my last car to them they knocked quiet a bit off for a couple of deep scratches but they missed the damaged wing mirror that had been hung carefully back in place and they never drove it either so they didnt notice the gearbox was whining either think i came off better  :D
