2007 Seat Leon FR 170. Any good?

Featured Replies

Just bought a bargain 2007 57 plate black Leon FR 170 off a friend with 102,000 miles, FSSH and in great nick.

What are the main things to look out for on these cars and are they any good?

I've not had the chance to drive it yet but I'm looking forward to the PD as I'm coming from a FL Octy TDi VRS.

Does the PD170 in the Leon have a DPF?

The PD170 in the Octavia vRS does and it is a bloody nuisance on older cars.

It does have a DPF but it's done motorway miles and is fine I'm told.

I Loved mine, until it started losing coolant and the dealer couldn't fix it!

Nice looking car! I'll post a few photos up of it once I've managed to clean and machine polish it :)

I just dont like that model Leon its just not quote right, the model below and the new model are gorgeous though.

Each to their own. I don't mind the shape although the K1 variant looks awesome.

I've only really got the car as it was a steal, soon as I've cleaned and machine polished it it'll be up for sale as I don't need it :)

I had an extended test drive in one of these before I got my first Octavia vRS estate and whilst it was certainly more response and quicker than the vRS the ride was simply appalling. I quickly decided that I couldn't live with no springs and dampers. Shame, as apart from that it was a good car.

The suspension is rock hard on these, I didn't mind it at all when I was driving it, passengers complained though :)

Sounds good then :)
