Flashing coil light.... :-(

Recommended Posts

Mine has still failed after the recall. But as I previously stated my car is a lemon!

ask skoda to check the turbo presure sensor wiring loom. I have had lots of problems with this sensor and the dealer just kept putting a new one on then a month later another and so on for months now.I got skoda uk on the case and today just picked my car up from haveing the loom done. All is good at the moment time will tell.

Thanks they checked that on the second failure.

Well would you believe it I just pulled up in a supermarket car park, the car stalled and now I've got a flashing coil light. Didnt clear on way home. Guess it's into Skoda tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that. Hope its a quick fix. keep us in the loop.

Just be grateful you haven't got mine.

Skoda Assist have been out and said it has to go into the garage - Just waiting for them to call back to say a courtsey car has arrived and will be leaving it with them for the weekend.

James... Bugger... Only took a day to get mine fixed...

The dealers now have my car and I've got a brand new Passat organised by Skoda Assist and it was there by the time I arrived at the dealers...great service.

The dealer however cannot look at my car until Tuesday which isn't a problem for me as I've been trying to keep my mileage down the last few months and was due to make a 500 mile round trip last night and over the weekend so it's now 500 miles on someone else's car.

Turbo hose has "gone". A replacement is on order from the Czech Republic as not a stocked item - It's on back order which means I could be without my car for well over a week!

Does anyone know if that could cause a misfire and coil light? I've had a drop in coolant recently so guess this could be from the turbo hose?

Probably, if I assume correctly that by "Turbo Hose" you mean the air supply into/out of the turbo, the would indeed cause the coil light (which indicates a general engine fault detected by the ECU).

If the pipe has a small hole or crack this could also cause engine hesitations as the ariflow to/from the turbo is uneven (air from outside leaking inside).

If it was the "oil" hose for the turbo you should ask them to confirm it has not damaged the turbo.

I doubt it is related to the coolant level low warning.

There have been many other owners who have the same warning.

Mostly they put it down to air in the system, but some have had problems with a leaky water pump which needed replacing.

You should get your dealer to check it out as well while the car is there.

Well the broken hose turned out to be the sensor and has been replaced and the car is ready to collect!

No idea what the first person I spoke to was going on about and nore did the guy who phoned to say it was ready!

On the first drop of coolant a few months ago they pressure tested it and all was well so I'll get them to take another look.
