OCU Update 03A6 - Settings Lost after Update
I finally figured out why my settings were lost after each update... After the OCU update you are logged out of your account.... You need to goto Users->Log Me In and re-enter your details to get your settings back.... Can believe it's taken me such a log time to realise this. Gabbo

Battery change
I didn't do it when I changed my battery and there were no problems. I just opened the bonnet, turned off the ignition and waited a bit of time until all the noises stopped from the engine bay. No settings were lost and everything worked fine on the next start without doing anything to the car.

Battery change
This was exactly the change I made on my Octavia 700Ah for 680Ah. I've not done it on the superb but the Octavia wasn't too difficult to get it in and out even though it's partially covered by the cowling around

Battery change
As long as you replace the battery with the same type (EFB for EFB or AGM for AGM) of similar size, coding is not really necessary. If you don't have the tools already it's not worth to buy them just to code the battery. I just swapped my Octavia battery with a new one. Stop start worked immediately & it's been fine for the last 4 years. Gabbo

Dodgy OEM Battery?
If you are on your second battery after 4 years there's really something wrong with your car, alternator or battery management module I would suggest.... Unless you are driving only a few miles a week the battery charge should be maintained automatically by the BMS while driving. Are you connecting a charger often and charging it manually ?

Alloy Wheel change
This was the original thread I had when looking for winter wheels for my car....
-
Alloy Wheel change
They are Borbet V Anthracite. I chose them from the Borbet website using the configurator. BorbetWheel configurator: Find your perfect BORBET wheelsFind the right wheels for your car in the BORBET 3D configurator Configure light alloy wheels directly with ABE, ECE or expert opinion and buy them from your BORBET dealer I was limited because I wanted the wheels with ECE certificate then it's easier for the Swiss MOT checks but you can choose ones with different ET in the UK so the choice is bigger

MK3 superb carpets
+1 for Skoda parts but obviously not UK based so there's always the shipping costs to consider for smaller items. Their service and part selection is excellent

Alloy Wheel change
There's lots of choice for aftermarket wheels which follow the approved VAG wheel dimensions & ET. You'll find they are 1/4 to 1/3 of the price of OEM wheels. These are my winter wheels which were €100 per corner. €220 per corner with premium Conti Winter tyres plus fitting balancing and delivery..

OCU Update 03A6 - Settings Lost after Update
I had another OCU update this weekend. Not as catastrophic as before but it seemed to disable lane assist and all the settings for lane assist were deactivated ( wheel vibration, warning etc) It's very annoying to have to do this every time there's an OTA update... Anypne else had this problem?

Coloured dash & door strips not working
Mine recently went off also after there was an OTA update for the OCU module. The update seemed to change the settings from manual back to auto. In auto with the driving profile on normal, I have no lighting & must choose sorry to have red or eco to have green. I changed the setting back to manual and now it's working again

New MPH display when in KM/H?
I checked mine driving home last night and I can have only kph or mph. I cannot have a view with both.

New MPH display when in KM/H?
I never noticed this before on my car & was something I always wanted when I visit the UK. I recently had an update too that reset all of the virtual cockpit and infotainment settings once in completed but haven't been to the UK since. I'll have a play this week to see if I have the same thing now. Gabbo

Removing nav map from virtual cockpit
You can manage the virtual cockpit view using the buttons on the steering wheel or by accessing the menu from the infotainment unit. Vehicle->Settings->virtual cockpit. There are something like 5 standard views with different levels of detail. Then through either menu you can choose what is displayed in the left circle, centre space or right circle. E.g. speed, gear, fuel economy, cruise control E.g. Navi map, music, phone etc I think some of the views automatically configure to show different information when you switch driving mode from eco, normal, sport etc.

Wiper Position when Running & When Off
I wonder if perhaps the position of the passenger wiper blade is not completely aligned where it was before & now I notice it more. When I noticed it was the first time it was raining after the screen was replaced. As the blade is raised quite far above the bonnet line it is affected by the wind/speed of driving & and rattles somewhat at high-speed or gusty winds. The drivers side blade only moves up or down maybe 1cm in this waiting position & doesn't appear above the bonnet line. I'll try to take a clear picture of this, to explain the difference. Gabbo

Wiper Position when Running & When Off
I've recently had the windscreen replaced by Desa Carglass in Switzerland. Installation went fine & they look like they've done a nice job. However I've noticed a behaviour I haven't seen before now the rains from the UK have moved towards Europe. When the wipers are in Auto or intermittent position and the system detects rain, the passenger side wiper is raised about 10cm and is visible above the bonnet line in the window. If I move the stalk to the off position or no rain is detected for a short time, the passenger side wiper seems to move back down into a kind of parking position below the bonnet line and is no longer visible from the driving position. This behaviour is consistent and repeatable so I'm assuming it's normal. But was wondering if it was perhaps stuck in a learning or calibration mode? Gabbo

Tyre size
Me too. It's an expensive system that has no huge benefits for me. I don't need expensive sensors on my winter tyres and can swap them myself. The system with ABS has proven effective on my 2014 Octavia several times detecting a leaking valve and nail in the tyre on separate occasions so I think it's quite effective. From an OEM point of view a system like this, where a good free alternative exists is a win-win from a cost save point of view. If a sensor costs $10 x4 and Skoda sells 100k Cars, deleting the sensor saves them $40m a year where they don't need to reduce the cost of the car for you as they still have the TPMS funding just using a different sensor.
-
Tyre size
I think it was only very early MK3 Superbs that has the active sensors fitted to the wheel... It definitely wasn't an option when I bought mine. I wanted without so I could cheaply swap my winter/summer wheels without needing a garage to mount/configure them
-
Tyre size
I'm pretty sure your 2025 superb will use the ABS wheel speed sensors for tyre monitoring. Mine is from Q3 2025 and didn't have sensors.
-
Tyre size
This is the main reason to stick with the manufacturer recommended wheel/tyres sizes as they will all give a very similar rolling circumference to ensure you will keep within the homologated vehicle speed calculation. I don't know if you can program non standard sizes via VCSD or OBD11 ??

Oil Consumption & MPG Drop – Skoda Kodiaq 2023 2.0 TDI 200bhp Laurin & Klement 4x4
I didn't update my previous Superb post recently but my car is 2 years old now and booked in for the 60k km service next week. The oil consumption is still high but has remained constant at ~1L per 7000km. The garage will again check for signs of oil in the usual places but I assume they will say all is fine & higher consumption is normal with this engine & 0W30 oil.... They suggested that going back to 5W30 might improve the situation but advised against it until the warranty was over in case there was really something wrong which I wanted to claim against the warranty. As the car is running fine, I will probably stay with the standard oil. I've found it around £40 for 5L so pick up a tub each year I come back to the UK. My fuel economy is good for the DSG 4x4 (5.8-6l/100km) so I'm happy to accept the explanation of the dealer so far. Gabbo

High Beam Light Assist
On our last Volvo XC90 the high been assist was "always on" by default... It was a pleasant suprise that the superb system worked just as well

Bouncy and Unsettling ride
I think the behaviour you have is normal for the Superb with standard suspension without DCC unfortunately. Mine is from 2023 & I have 3 big speed bumps outside my house. At low speeds it's like being in a bouncy castle, midspeed it's not as bad and a bit faster feels like you bottomed out the suspension when you enter or leave. I also have the same kind of creaking noise from the front suspension when the weather is cold & I go over the speed bumps. It disappears when the car is warm but comes back el again each morning. I had the same creaking noise on my Octavia after around 7 years & was a bit disappointed to have it on the superb after 2. Usually when I take the Octavia for a service the garage greases something and the problem disappears until the next winter. However for the Superb, I'll be asking them if there's something better they can do under warranty.
