Fabia III Instrument cluster lighting?

Featured Replies

My 2013 Facelift Fabia Greenline II Estate, The illumination on the dials and switches comes on when I turn the Headlight switch to the 'I' position (sidelights) which also dis-engages the DRL's (although my needles are illuminated all the time, just not the numbers!!) then onto position 'II' the illumination (obviously) stays on!

I never drive around on just sidelights, if it's raining or foggy etc (during daylight hours) I still pop my Headlights on (position 'II')

I think your dealership is just fobbing you off, as they can't figure out how to change the functionality!!

  • Yep - Cluster lights do not come with sidelights -- only with headlights.  Which makes sense - as we're not meant to be driving on sidelights.   One of my bugbears over here - the amount of cars th

  • As stupid as it is, the UK Highway Code and the Traffic Acts still tell you about lighting up between sunset and sunrise and covers driving in Towns with Street lights and Speeds limits (30 mph / 48km

I had service today about my instrument light that sometimes goes completly dark in foggy daylight when the lightswitch is in automatic mode.. I have climatronic but no rainsensor. The servicman said that there are many equipment levels and in my case the instrument light will work like this. He think it is stupid.  Now I will keep the headlight on forever to avoid this problem. I heard that next year the light must allways be on all around the car, which we have had in Sweden for many years , true or not???

Lights on all around the car is not required in the UK now during the day and will not be next year.

(Highway code tells you to switch on lights in poor visibility, and i wish the Police would take action on those that do not, including Police driving and not lighting up in poor weather.)

DRL's are not required to be on during the day in the UK, this year or next.

Manufactures must fit them to new Type Approved cars after Feb 2011, so that did nor include the Fabia MK3, it was not Type Approved just face lifted again.

Even when the Manufacturer fits them you can Inhibited them (do away with them) & they are not part of the UK MOT.
