Colours?

Featured Replies

Hi all

My first post! Read tons of good stuff here!

Just had a drive in one and it is a great car. As others have said its hard to see past the PCH deals if you are not too bothered about spec.

With the PCH, it appears Metallics are free, so what's the thought on best colour for the car? I'm taken by metallic white but can't decide!

Welcome

Colours are very personal, I liked the sound of the Moon white but when I saw it in the flesh the metallic was quite hard to spot.

Rosso Brunello is IMO the best looking colour for a Superb (with beige leather) BUT ONLY when it is clean, on a dull day or when it is dirty it is quite drab looking IMO

Magnetic Brown... really not sure on this one!!

Jungle Green... looks great on the Yeti (which is the colour we chose for our Yeti) but NOT on a Superb!

Quartz Grey... very nice with a green tint to it in certain light conditions, the only thing that put me off was there was a car with a couple of stone chips on the forecourt and they were VERY noticeable.

Black Magic... nightmare to keep clean, end of story (my current Superb is Black Magic)

Petrol Blue.. another one that changes colour in different light conditions, looks amazing under artificial lighting, but quite non descriptive (boring) on a typical cloudy day.

Brilliant Silver... great for hiding the dirt

Cappachino Beige... not for me, but they can look nice.

Business Grey... awful name, but for me this was the best compromise, so it’s what I ordered, it also helped that the demonstrators I have seen were this colour... and I like it, I guess it will be very common though  :|

Welcome Mrwilby agree wholeheartedly with Gizmo68's descriptions of the colours. We chose Petrol Blue with Beige interior our second choice but we loved Candy White and Chocolate leather seats in our first Superb but it was written off recently and we did not want too many reminders of accident. As Gismo68 says colours are very personal...

Welcome!

I'm going from a Rosso Brunello Octy II Elegance

to a Pearl Black Superb L&K - Know its gonna be a bitch to keep clean - but then so was the Octy to be honest.

And I fancied Black for a change - not had a black car since not long after i learnt to drive nearly 30 yrs ago.

That said it was very nearly Quartz Grey i went for

I test drove a L& K estate in Rosso Brunello with beige interior. I liked the interior but for me the paint colour looked too dark.

My octavia is cappuccino beige and I still like the colour so I'll stick with it. Makes me feel a bit unadventurous but I liked the beige interior on the test drive so I intend to order beige and beige on Monday from NCD.

What it looks like when you don't clean it as often as you should is a concern for me too. The beige on the octavia hides the dirt well.

Here's a cappuccino beige in the sun. L&K ordered in this colour with brown leather, beige headlining, anthracite wheels.

How was the cappuccino beige to keep clean?

Another business grey here.

However, don't assume that beige leather is possible on a PCH (SE Business?)

Thanks all! Gizmo, you should sell your descriptions to car magazines! And there was me thinking I had watched all the videos....

As I am used to buying new citroens after many many purchases, I can't believe all the choice with Skoda!

The car I drove had a very loud and annoying noise though, sounds like something under the bonnet resonating very loudly, and the dealer said they can't find it which is a worry as this is normally a Citroen trait, but I'm sure it's a one off.

Moon white or rosso brunello for me, I'm getting there :-)

Wonder if the loud and annoying sound was a dealer from your usual dealership trying to put you off buying a new Skoda??? :giggle:

I went for Quartz Grey  Combi,in Style spec,  and it's now built and on the docks in Germany, awaiting shipping to Ireland.

Well that's the thing... I don't like cleaning the car. The metallic beige on the Octavia can go a long time between washes without looking too bad so it works for me.

Any of the silver based (Aqua Blue, Amethyst Purple, Business Grey, Cappachino Beige etc) cars are going to hide the dirt almost as good as Silver, yes they may all look a little bit boring but they are ideal if you can not keep them clean.

Oh yes Jungle Green is also great for hiding the dirt, which reminds me the Yeti has not been washed for a month so I better go and do it  :D

Don't know why you are all going for these fancy metallic ( well apart from they are included in your deal ). Why not see if you can pay extra and go for the best colour ...... Corrida Red ?

:-D

Is there no metallic pink?

I've just been to my local German dealer who had this lovely SE L spec combi in loaded with options.

Both I and SWMBO thought this Empire Grey really looked good, although she was also swayed by the Pearl Black hatch L&K outside and she doesn't normally like hatches.

What I want to know is if DE Empire Grey = Business Grey UK. If so my combination colour is picked. Anyone know?

I'd say it looks like the business grey i saw on SEL at dealer the other day.

Dont suppose you got any pics of that black L&K did you?

Ney, it was chucking it down outside and putting both nippers into car seats got me soaked enough! I may go back next week, will take pic if I do.

I though business grey was darker, this was quite light almost silver grey. The Germans also have Quartz Grey which I thought looked more business grey'ish. I don't want a dark coloured car n think the B'grey is too dark but not yet seen one in the flesh.

Business Grey is the lighter grey with Quartz Grey being pretty dark.

The photo you attached blahde2 is 100% Business Grey

Anyone taken a photo of one in magnetic brown or rosso brunello?

I'd like to see these but only seen black, white and shades of grey so far.

Of those, favourite colour I've seen during my walks around showrooms has been quartz grey.

Not seen a beige interior either. Would this work with magnetic brown?

Skip to 36 minutes and the reviewer looks a a few different exterior and interior colours.

Both shown in that video

I've gone for Rosso Brunello but I am also going to get a paint protection put on. I've researched a few and settled on a G Techniq Protection Detail with Crystal Serum upgrade. It's not cheap but has a long guarantee and will make cleaning very easy.

Never really been sure about these treatments. Are they worth it ? Do they last ?

Are they as good as a 2 bucket wash, carnauba wax and a clay bar ?

Go over to the `Car Care` section. You'll get all the help and info you need there.
