Checklist for Dealer collection

Featured Replies

Hi, Does anyone have a checklist of items that should be checked prior to leaving the forecourt when picking up a brand new Octavia.

Apart from the usual locking wheel nut key, spare key, manuals, etc  So far from reading on here I have picked up:

  • SD card with appropriate maps
  • Transport blocks from suspension

take some time to look for damage on the Paint.

Is there a way to check version number on the sd card? Which os the correct one?

All fluid levels under the bonnet for sure, Give the paintwork a good going over all around (expect the odd sticky patch round the edges, dark residue where the white transit wrap has been pulled off and not cleaned off) and obviously all options

Make sure to check the bodywork in good daylight for paint problems. There are posts on here from people who have had paintwork defects that they didn't pick up till later & then it's difficult proving they were there on pick up. Also check glass, I missed a scratch on the rear screen which I didn't find until first clean. Just take your time checking everything works including lights. You expect everything to work but posts on here tell a different story in a few cases.

Nearly forgot tyre pressures - some mechanics don't know their psi from their bars.

SD card comes in/with a DVD case type thing. There is a barcode and textual product ID/part no. printed on the back. There is a thread somewhere where I have listed the part/product ID. I'll try dig it up or you can look at my postings under my profile and you should be able to find it.

Can't recall if the version number is also printed on the back of the case. You can get this from the settings once it's been loaded up.

If a vRS check to make sure the pedal trims are on it.

I'm awaiting mine :(

Check the paint meticulously. There have been some posts on here regrading very poor paintwork
