Sat Nav, go home octy.

My Amundsen Nav keeps zooming in to Wolfsberg then locking up. Anyone else had this issue awaiting a call back from Skoda to get it booked in to look at.

It'll be the ECU reporting to base for an emissions software update. :D

Sorry, I reckon it'll need a dealer update to sort it, or the GPS antenna faulty perhaps.

It's a clever boy then. It started doing it before the scandal broke. Funny enough it does it most when I am travelling south... 4 times on my drive from Derby to Ashford over the weekend

Mine does this every few months or so. Either clears itself, or "safely eject" the SD card (if amundsen unit) then reinsert plus switch ignition on/off can fix it for me.(I have found it best to leave it for an hour or so after ejecting card before putting it back. Seemed to me that data can "linger" in memory for a while after the card is ejected.) Can be caused by GPS antenna but not in my case - despite Wolfsburg being shown verbal directions and nav info in maxi dot remain correct. Because of that I put up with it.

PS I have also had this happen after a map update to the sd card. Data must be corrupted as repeating the update clears it.

I don't want to be defeatist but if it's not the antenna the dealer may struggle to fix this. I think the Amundsen unit can be a bit flaky with its behaviour sometimes.

Mine has done this a couple of times & when it did the map alignment symbol appeared on the right hand side of the screen. By touching that button it returned to the correct map display, so I assumed it was a temporary loss of the GPS signal and some default location appeared.

Had the car 2 years & happened only a couple of times so not bothered going into dealer.

+1

Exactly the same has happened to me in the past.Forgot to mention that particular foible in my earlier post.

Yes, here also. Back to Wolfsburg each time the nav data is updated.

Poor car, if at least it would languish from Mlada Boleslav...
