VRS Alloy Rim Protector for 19" Xtreme Wheel

Just recently brought a Octavia MkIII VRS, fitted with 19" Xtreme Alloys. I would like to fit alloy rim protectors, has my darling wife has a nasty habit of kerbing alloys.

So I would like to fit AlloyGators, has anybody fitted these to Xtreme alloys ?

Just my 2 cents - I would rather have tyres with rim protectors built in so you don't need to have rim protectors spoiling the look of your alloys.

As above I'm not a fan of alloygators I think they look nasty. I have Goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric 2 tyres which have a great rim protector

I had them fitted to the standard 18" vrs alloys. Although they did the job they were supposed to for a year, they don't resist the scuffs very well, ie they soon look tatty.also, now it may have been the Alloys or the way they were fitted, but I got fed up of having to constantly hammer them back in position with a mallet on the front rims. Seemed the harder I drove the quicker they moved due to flexing of the Tyre. Alloygators themselves ask if the "clips" were fitted. As I didn't fit them I had no idea. Once the fronts wore to a depth where I could justyfy replacements, I changed from Bridgestone's to Goodyear F1's. These only just protect. Yet on a Focus ST rim they have a massive amount of overhang.

This is the solution I've adopted, hence my alloys are still perfect.

As said, get tyres that protect the alloys. The gators are not very good, and come loose OFTEN.
