Well I didn't know Germany made the best cars,after the recent admissission this is pure SPECULATION,

 

Well I suggest you sell your Yeti and buy a Nissan Juke then...

^^^^^ I didn't realise my Yeti was made in Germany but I did realise Mercedes had Fiat or some NON German engines and if I change my yeti it won't be for a juke too small more likely a quashqai or Honda or Mazda or Kia because if I did want a vw they are too dishonest and might have folded by then and I'm not a vag snob and realise there are other products out there as good or better so there is plenty of choice out there still.

It can't be because Germany makes the best cars but obviously not the best engines.oh and what an irony the man who found all the cheating was called MR GERMAN.

Great stuff...yet more diesel to hit the fan. Really glad I moved away from them.

I decided to just go for it. Bought a 2013 yeti adventure brilliant silver 2.0 tdi 110ps.

Got what I feel was a good price for it and I'm really enjoying it. My wife loves it too and when she saw it in the flesh when she test drove it was totally sold. It was significantly cheaper than the 2015 jeep renegade we looked at and to me it is much better put together and styled.

Myself and the "Mrs" looked at most crossovers recently when finding our new cars and I liked the Jeep in some ways but it's like it's a small car trying too hard to look tough, the splash of mud rev counter and "X" rear lights just look a bit naff and cartoonish too. It's a close but no cigar for me.

 

I opted for the Yeti L&K and her Qashqai N-Tek+ arrived today, must admit it's a lovely, refined and quiet car - the 1.2 petrol surprisingly good too, I was wondering why I went for the Yeti to be honest after backing it onto the drive but then remembered the extra power of the 150tdi and DSG box were important to me! I wish I could have the cool all round cameras of the Qashqai though -

As Jimrod says. The PCH I've just signed up to for a 1.4 TSI L&K costs about £5,500 over two years, 8k miles p.a.. I reckon that is less than the depreciation the car will suffer over the same period - so why bother buying? You may think you're buying the car if you take out a PCP or HP agreement, but in fact all you're doing is covering the depreciation. I hate this type of mentality with a passion (I'm very much of the "I like to own what I drive" mindset), but as Paul Getty said - "If it depreciates, lease it. If it appreciates, buy it."

 

I work hard for my income, so I want to make sure it works hard for me. The salesman I spoke to said I'll be offered an extension of 6-12 months to the PCH towards the end of the two years, at a renegotiated rate. If that's favourable and I like the car, I may well take that option, letting the car depreciate still further over what I'm paying to drive it. If after that I still want to keep the car, then I (or family member) will look to pounce on it as an outright purchase. By then though, I expect Skoda or a.n.other manufacturer will have put a new flavour of candy in the sweet shop window to turn my head :)

 

This was my thinking when I look at how much my ’10 Fabia 1.6 Diesel has cost me over the last 2 years (depreciation + the big bills that can come in years 4 and 5) and when I calculate a monthly figure from that for about 20% more I could be driving a new Yeti SE L.

 

I’ve never leased before, but for that money I feel I would get the peace of mind that comes with driving a new car; plus much more car (and fancy buttons inside the car)... still mulling it over at the moment.

Me too. The deals I've seen at Simpsons Skoda appear to be too good to be true. My Yeti is only 18 months old so its a bit new to be getting rid of it but I am worried about the VW groups future ( I did buy a Saab just before they went bust) and I'm wonder if taking a financial hit now is worth it. The thought of driving a higher spec Yeti is appealing as well.

I don't think skoda or any of the vw group will go bust over this. As much as the US govt ans auto industry would like it to.

I may lease when it comes time to change the Octavia but having two young kids who will inevitably cause wear and tear and be able to buy a 18 month old low milage yeti outright for a similar 3 year monthly cost as leasing a new one I opted to buy again. Anotherfactor for me was I prefer the pre facelift models appearance so it helped make my mind up.

but they are working on a solution, + accept responsibility for Fault.

The Simpsons PCH deals are completely legit. You're leasing through a Skoda main dealer, the finance is with VW Financial Services, just as it would be with the PCP deals shown on the SUK website and the cars are factory built to order (so you can add options if you want to, but don't go overboard as you'll be gifting them to Skoda in effect). I was equally suspicious, but all of my questions about such things were quickly answered by Simpsons. In case you're wondering, I've got absolutely no connection with them and ordering a car from a dealer in Preston when I live in Wiltshire is hardly ideal, but those prices just can't be ignored.

 

The £99/month Yeti SE L DSG deal soon got amended, so anyone who signed up for that one while it was offered obviously got a bargain.
