LED rear lights - glass

Featured Replies

Anyone know if it's possible to get the glass for the rear LED lights, rather than having to replace the unit? I've a crack in mine (thanks to some very stupid shopping centre poles) but the light is working perfectly. Not a big deal, but it bugs me on and off and I prob wouldn't bother changing it if i have to do the whole unit.

I would imagine like all units now days they are just that a whole sealed unit.

Gone are the mini type days of just replacing the glass.

I'm thinking as much but it's always worth asking, someone might know despite me hoping against hope I could avoid replacing the whole thing. Thanks

Check and see if you find hella number on it. Then you could buy a new one from your local hella store . I know hella does many of the brands light housings

If its not too bad you can buy transparent coloured tape specifically designed for rear lights; internet or halfords best bet

Thanks. I've never heard of that before so bear with me - where would I find the hella number or what am I looking for? Sorry for the complete helplessness on this one  :peek:

Superskoda has pictures of the back of the housing. They are manufactured by Varroc.

Correct, maybe varroc sells spares too.

Don't leave it cracked. Moisture / water will get in and fill the cluster, shorting the LED's.

£100 for a complete rear cluster from a Skoda main dealer...

Or Superskoda...

Thanks for that, haven't been able to find anything about just getting the glass, will prob end up replacing the whole unit, luckily there isn't a gaping hole in it making me need to hurry up on it

Think I would get some "Aradite" and smack a smidge over the crack to seal it and keep it going.

Then keep an eye on a breakers site for any secondhand units in the future, save a few quid.

There's a few VRS's being broken on flea-bay last time I had a look, or google the Parts finder thingy and log a request.

Got to be cheaper than going to a main stealer!

You're not going to be able to replace the lens, it will ultrasonically welded on.

The lights that are in this link -  will they fit the estate model or just hatchback?

Cheers

You can look at parts on Superskoda either by estate (combi) or hatch (limousine) to be sure you get the right ones. Have you damaged yours too?

Cool, I was a bit confused by what they meant as limousine and non limousine, I'll order the non limousine then! Yes completely broke the casing by reversing into a skip (tool I know!). Are they easy to fit DIY?

Ouch! These things happen though [emoji6]

Not sure about fitting, haven't done it before but I'd imagine it's fairly straightforward.

I managed to crack my 2. Right one top right corner is cracked on 2 edges and its holding in middle corner part. :(

IDK how this happened?
