An excellent post by jakeblade inspired me to do this project but I was not keen on having the mesh on display and found a very quick and much easier way to protect the condenser invisibly.

This is the original post

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/315868-grille-guard/?hl=%2Bcondensor

Using the same aluminium black mesh as in that post I found that it can be inserted about 60mm in front of the condenser.

There is a very convenient trough in the plastic moulding at the base of the condenser which the mesh can sit in and the mesh can be bent to wedge it into this trough.

The sides of the mesh are bent forward and siliconed to the air snoop walls (obvious when you get in there) and the top of the mesh is cable tied around the clips that secure a pipe running horizontally across and behind the slam panel.

the whole thing can be accessed by just removing the two plastic covers in front of the slam panel (under bonnet front) and removing the centre bracket (one nut) under that.

Some flexing and reshaping is needed to get the mesh in but it can easily be straightened again when fitted.

The grill can not be seen without getting down on the floor and looking in.

You will also need two extra silicon tube nozzles used as extensions to reach through the lower grill when securing the sides.

Pictures/ dimensions are available to anyone who asks (without starting their sentence with "so" or using the non word "gotten")

I can not post them as I have used all  my picture allowance
