Strut Bolt

Featured Replies

Over the weekend I attempted to fit my eibach springs. Can across a slight problem. One of the strut bolts on the drivers side was stuck. Managed to get it to turn but it doesn't screw out. Just turns and turns. So left with two option. Take it too the garage for them to sort or try and drill the bolt out. But I'll then need to replace the top mount.

Anybody know how much the top mounts are? and how much a garage would charge to do it.

Was right ****ed of as I'd managed to swap the spring on one side. So had to go back and swap it back to standard

The bolt is

N 101 277 06 £0.96 each

Strut tops are £14.22 each I have two here you can have for £10 if you want them.

As for removal it depends how much of the bolt you can see, can you hacksaw it? Grind it with a dremmel maybe??

Didnt take long to drill the bolt out.

Yes the whole strut/spring has to come out. Removing is alot easy with the hub tool to open the hub. Takes me a couple of hours to do a side. The longest part I find is pretentioning the spring. One side (cant remember which) you have to pretension it before removal. Just noticed you have eibachs so shouldnt need to pretension the spring while its on the car.

I think it's 6Q0 412 331 B.

Best to check with the dealer before ordering.
