Stereo options for Fabia

Featured Replies

Hi,

The one who must be obeyed recently had a Fab 3 courtesy car which had a DAB touchscreen stereo in it which the mrs thought was rather good. In her Fab 2, she has a Swing with an AM reception problem (as described elsewhere).

What options are there for getting something similar to what is in the Fab 3? It doesn't really matter whether it's 3rd party or VW OEM (like from a different model).

And yes, I can imagine that I'll need a 5 TeraWatt aerial amplifier for the DAB.

I guess you could get an amundsen+ stereo in there. My Monte has one and its DAB touchscreen. Wouldn't know what the fitting procedures are, but others on here would be able to help with that.

You could see if you can find a second hand Columbus. Straight fit no fascia needed. You'd need an ariel if you got a DAB one though.

Columbus is a DAB unit?

Also, I read that it integrates with a maxidot display but the SE has an LCD. Would this limit the functionality a great deal?

For me it's either the Kenwood dnx521dab or the dnx525dab
