Surplus Hella plug behind the dash

Featured Replies

Hi,

Ongoing issues with spurious wiring behind the dash in my mk2 ex police car.

A strange looking plug is hanging down with no home to go to. It looks like it would fit into an instrument cluster, but doesn't reach the main one. It has a rubber ring to create a good seal and then an electonic key-like end. Is it a temperature sensor?

Take a look at the attached and let me know if you recognise it.

The plug is marked as:

HELLA

7843-03 A

300 907 543A

1207080534

Any help would be most appreciated.

Cheers,

R.

Yup, it's a temperature sensor, although the part number starts with 3D0 not 300 ;) I'd expect a hole somewhere (in an air duct for the HVAC system) for it to fit into.

It's mentioned in these diagrams:
