1st time Skoda Owner

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I just bought my first Skoda this week: 2007 Octavia RS petrol manual...

I wasn't specifically looking for one of these, just a cheapish daily driver to replace a clapped our Astra that I use to commute to work, but the price was right, even if the car is yellow!

I am thoroughly impressed with the car being my 2nd decent European car ( I have previously owned a E39 BMW 540i), as my usual taste falls in the JDM categories: I have been importing my own cars for years ( my wife has a late model Toyota Caldina GTFour, and I have a highly modified Nissan Stagea for weekend fun)

Having had the Skoda for a few days now, we're starting to bond, and all I can say is wow: such a good package for the money!

I'm planning to make mostly cosmetic modifications (vinyl wrap bonnet, roof, grille and spoiler to break up the yellow, black OEM wheels, and maybe a reflash tune), but once the process starts, I usually go overboard ( and over budget!)...

Looking forward to spending some more time behind the wheel, and hopefully contributing to the forums...

Micah

Welcome to the forum. I should be picking up my first Skoda this Saturday. Also an Octavia vRS, but a DSG diesel estate.

My only foray in to Jap ownership was a Rev 3 Toyota MR2.

The Stagea sounds interesting though. Used to have a thing for them back in the day. What have you done to it?

In short: everything lol! It makes around 650hp, and has cost enough to buy a small country...

I'll post pics and details if you're interested once I have full membership...

Oh yeah: I'm based on the Gold Coast, Australia: hoping there's a few members nearby to catch up with...
