Yeti Colours in October 2015 Brochure

Featured Replies

I've just noticed an innocent looking footnote on page 35 of the October 2015 Yeti brochure, where it shows the exterior colour choices. There is a little diamond next to Pacific Blue, Black Magic pearl effect, Cappuccino Beige, Jungle Green, Petrol Blue, Muscovado & Rosso Brunello metallics. The corresponding note reads "Not available on Monte Carlo. Only available from stock".

Does that mean what I think it means?

Probably. I know the Yeti is scheduled to be replaced in 2017 but I think that likely means introduction of the mkII in Autumn 2016. The Yeti's had a good run but the interior and efficiency are starting to date rapidly compared to the competition. That said, my Jungle Green is being built to order in a couple of weeks so take the brochure with a pinch of salt...

Only seems like yesterday when we had not seen a Yeti... :dull:

I doubt it. Don't forget that Skoda are planning 3 or 4 distinct SUV-type vehicles ranging from a Juke competitor through to a 7-seater. By all accounts, the direct Yeti replacement is some way back in the queue and I have seen 2018 quoted (though whether that's MY or calendar year I don't know).

And then of course this was all before the emissions cheating affair blew up. I'd have guessed that this is bound to suck up a lot of the cash that was planned to be spent on model development and it's difficult to believe that new model introductions won't be reviewed and potentially slowed down. So it's anyone's guess when the new models will actually get out of the door - I'd suggest that even Skoda don't know at present until the technical details and scale/cost of the recall become clear.

All the new models are some way off, so it seems a bit Draconian to reduce the colour range by 50% at this early stage. Added to that, the colours they've left in place are (mostly) the dullard's choices.

Typical Skoda....You can have any colour you like as long as it's white ,red, or silver ...and that's about it.

After all the present trouble it might be in one colour option only (white) which I think is a good choice.

The Monte Carlo is a special edition, that's why its only available in limited colours and the "Only available from stock" means it's no longer being produced so cannot be made to special order.

But the sentence immediately prior, under the same 'diamond' note, says that the MC isn't available in those colours, full stop. So what's the point of adding the sentence immediately after that to say "Only available from stock"? There's no need to say that when they've already stated you can't order an MC in those colours (and the previous issues of the brochure said that you couldn't have the MC in those colours either). So I can only assume that the new "Only available from stock" statement must apply to everything other than the MC.

I've got in touch with the dealer for clarification. He says that the only colour being discontinued is Rosso Brunello, from builds after week 45.

.......and Skoda brochures are so renowned for their clear and unambiguous information. :D

An industry research and OEM intelligence report that i get access to states that "the second generation Yeti is due in 2016 and is said to be codenamed SK376".

As I said earlier in my post above but to clarify. The Monte Carlo has only been available in a few colours as it's a "Special Edition"

That has been since the Monte Carlo came out and has always been in the brochure.

Now to the second quote "Only available from stock", that is a recent addition (as in the last month or two) as the car is no longer in production so if anybody wants one it will be from stock already made but not yet sold.

But that doesn't make sense. Previous brochures only stated that the colours marked with the diamond are not available on the Monte Carlo. So you can't, and never could, order them on an MC (as you say). So what's the point of Skoda adding the comment "Only available from stock" to those same colours, if you couldn't order them in the first place? I read it that the colours marked with the little diamond have two comments against them: First, that you can't have them (nor could you ever have them) on an MC. Second, that for all other models, those colours are "Only available from stock".

Otherwise, I don't see the point of them adding the new comment - the first one renders the second redundant/irrelevant, in the case of the MC. Do you see what I mean? :) I think (hope) it's just clumsy wording on the part of Skoda.

I have just got my MC this week ordered from stock last week exactly what i wanted, Candy white with black roof some could argue that its a poor mans colour but i think in the MC its just right, i mean why would you want a Monte Carlo in say jungle green or in any of those colours to be honest. I do however think Race Blue on the MC with black roof would look stunning but unfortunately not available on the yeti.

I think they are referring to the new, larger 7 seater version.
