dpf on exhaust

Featured Replies

hi all i got a 2007 octavia vrs tdi 170 estate had the car since july and now its starting to stink bad both around the front of the car and when blowers on so took it to my specialist had it serviced and checked for the smell found that the dpf on the exhaust is split and leaking gutted! and to make matters worse it had been done in febuary with a non genuine part and they wont replace it robbing dogs. they are crap so can i get a used genuine one that needs cleaning or can i bypass it and re-map the car instead.  a genuine one from skoda is £1700 ouch! thats half the value of the car so please help, need expert help not got loads of money cheers rob.

I would be inclined to find someone to gut it :x and then repair the casing

If I were you, I would remove the DPF and remap the ECU, especially if I were to keep the car. No clogging again, more power, more mileage.

Of course, see if you can get it repaired first. Maybe a good welder can do the trick.
