Octy II Estate - Rear wash not working

Featured Replies

Anyone had their rear wash pack up in this recent spell of cold weather ?

I have and i have solved the problem without a visit to the dealer and without invalidating the warranty - took 45-60 mins tops to sort out - if anyone needs details of "How to" let me know and i'll post the details

Skoda Octavia MK 2 Estate 05> Rear wash system inoperative

Has your rear wash system stopped working during the recent spell of cold weather?

Does the screenwash end up on the rear load cover instead of the rear screen!

The trim is a pain in the **** to put back on the Hatch, its a 2 person job.

Anyone tried this? Is it a fairly simple one man job and did any of the plastic clips break? The nozzle on my Estate has been knocked into the housing - I can see it through the hole but need to get into the light unit to put it back in place.

Have same prob with a fabia, assumed pump pushed the frozen pipe off, have done nothing so far, interested to know what you did. Cheers , Phil

Not too hard although the plastic the parts are made of is not too strong! I broke two of the housings moulded into the covers - one off the base part and one off the top part. Stuck them back on with superglue which seemed to work okay. It may be that the plastic was brittle because the temperature was only 5C when I did it; probably better to wait for a warm day when plastic will probably be less brittle. Only other advice is to insure you put something into the housing when you unscrew the plastic bolts to remove the high level brake light so that if you drop one of the plastic nuts (and you will!) it won't be lost in the metalwork of the rear hatch. I need a new nozzle (
