Does Amundsen have voice control for NAV

Featured Replies

I am shortly getting a Octy 3 1.6CRDi SEL DSG. This comes with Amundsen and bluetooth as standard.

In the brochure the SE and by inference the SEL comes with 'voice control for phone and navigation(when added)'

But on page 45 only the Columbus is listed with  voice control, as usual Skoda brochures are not very helpful or accurate.

So will I be able to voice control the phone and sat-nav?

Yes all Mk3 Octavias with perhaps the exception of the base S model have Voice Control; even those without nav.

It was utter garbage on the earlier Octavias with the older MIB1 infotainment systems though..not sure how much it will have improved.

Oddly...voice control is an optional extra on the Golf...my £28.5k GTD has nav, the capability to do voice but is not activated from the factory which is a bit cheapskate!

I'd forgotten mine had it till the other day. It's actually ok. If you do the classic ignorant English man speaking to a forgein person v e r y s l o w l y. She is more than accommodating. Plus the end of command jingle is great right? ;)

The voice control on my MIB1 equipped elegance is utterly useless and it's faster to use the touchscreen, it really is as bad as "navigation.... home"  which is interpreted as "phoning stewart"

My MIB2 voice is absolutely fine. No problems whatsoever.
