Key blade fallen out

Featured Replies

The key blade on my flip key fell out of the fob and the pin is lost.  Given that everything still works, does anyone know of anywhere that is able to supply just the retaining pin, or at least some way of fixing the blade to the fob, without resorting to shelling out for a completely new key?

Many thanks in advance!

Yes that was obviously my first port of call but when I was quoted somewhere around £70 for a new key I thought I would try and find something a bit more reasonable.

Unless you're not in warranty or have provably misused or modified your key why isn't this covered under warranty?

Other place to look would be ebay - the new key design is shared with a few models in the vag range now.  I seem to remember the immobiliser ampule (don't know the right name - the unique rfid type module for the immobiliser to know what key you're using) is pretty fragile though.

Quite a few national key cutting companies do them I think. They may be able to repair it
