graphite dust locks

Featured Replies

well i put this on my l200 as key becoming dodgy and actually thought i need a new ignition

It seems to have done the trick, as i had a habit of driving with a big bunch of keys.

However friend told me i shouldn't use it, its bad for locks, yet i thought it was a dry lubricant

One of the worries that I would have with that stuff is, it might make a bit of a mess of your pockets etc. There should not be any worries wrt any dust getting near the switch contacts as they should be physically separated.  I do have a plastic blue "policeman" filled up with graphite dust - I can't say where/when it came from, but I'd guess that it is at least 40 years old!!

well hopefully won't need it again, but has done the trick on my old car a 52plate, i thought i was going to have to go down route of locks , ecu etc.

Just keep car key off big bunch of keys, but seem to lose it more, going to get one of them key finders

I'd be wary of it near electronics since it is conductive. I guess a little isn't likely to do much harm.
