This is worryingly cheap!

Featured Replies

After finally getting my hands on my Octy vRS last week I'm still getting notifications from various sites.

This one just popped up and if it's not a mid print then I'd imagine there being something seriously wrong with it.

If it's not either then it's a bargain from someone who doesn't really know what they're selling.

It will be a scam......the "seller" has zero feedback as well....chances are the pictures are off the internet.....wont even be their car to sell.

I hope nobody gets lured in. I think the majority of people looking for these type of cars are pretty clued up.

Number one give away for a scam?

The seller providing an email address in the listing for all communication.

Don't be fooled.

I'm not. I got mine last week and paid the going rate.

I don't think I would've been fooled even though I was desperate to get one.

How much do they go for then? I have no idea?

The listing does sound very suspect though.

What is your budget? There's a really nice Blackline for sale on eBay too.

Directly below that listing was a similar vehicle, except it was priced at over £10,000.

So what's the scam? Surely no car no money exchanging. Or is it possibly a lure to get people there with cash in pocket?

Fin I was replying to the post directly above mine by Paul about the Head Unit.

Sorry I should have quoted it

I think you you've got it with the last part of your comment. It's a lure which will turn into a scam.

I expect the scam will be some variation of the usual 'Its somewhere else so you need to send me the money to have it delivered'.

Any advert which suggests you contact the seller through any means other than the official site is a scam.

People send money to someone they've never met for a car they've never seen? Dear me that's as shocking as the scam itself!!

Such things happen. For example, in Latvia demand for used cars is greater than demand for new cars so these used ones have to be imported from somewhere (mostly from Germany). Many imported ones can be bought here but usually there are at least mileage frauds. So, many decide to buy directly from Germany. Usually some guy does the service. If the cars is more or less OK then he buys it. Buying can be complex for simple user because of lack of German language, lack of law knowledge etc. So, many buy simply by ad pictures and in many cases it's OK (if they are bought from serious seller).

Someone could write an e-mail and post the answer here. Just for fun :)

You shouldn't have written that about Lada - kinda suspicious :)

But all that reminds me e-mails about Africa dictator's widdow which could easily get her billions (and give me 25% of that) if only had 600 USD for some kind of transaction...
