LPG Grants

Featured Replies

Does the government still offer grants for lpg conversions?

Not sure to be honest, check out www.boostlpg.co.uk i think thats the right address and it has all the information there.

What you thinking of doing it on???

Must admit I was wondering about an LPG octavia VRS as an alternative to another diesel car.

well my Octy vRS is running on LPG and its great.

getting on average 240-250 miles per tank of gas 45-47 litres which costs approx £20.

so motoring is so much better now as its so much cheaper.

the kit will have payed for itself on the mileage that i do in 9-10 months so all good.

Just had a look into it and grants stopped as of march. As for the car its a secret at the moment. Was looking at an mg zs 180 but changed my mind.

LOL whats wrong with them, there really good cars.

The performance on gas isn't as punchy as on petrol but for everday driving around its more than adequate.

and if i want to have some extra fun i just push the button and switch it to petrol, which is instant and off you go.

but i have to say now that i hate putting petrol in it as its so expensive!!!!!

well about the going rate for a 4 cylinder engine conversion from the quotes i got is approx £1500,a friend of mine at work has found somewhere that will convert his Leon Cupra R for £1250,which is very good.

so in approx 8 months from now the kit will have paid for itself and i'll be saving money with every mile i do.

Thinking of doing the wifes 3.3 Grand Voyager next year, f*ckin thing drinks like a bas*ard.

Just make sure wherever the conversion is done there lpga approved as the industry is not regulated and alot of places out there are ex gardeners, truck drivers etc

I wouldnt expect a very tidy job for £1200. When I have the conversion ill pot som detailed pics.
