Coilovers & geometry alignment....

Featured Replies

Is there any point in getting a full geometry alignment after fitting these or will tracking suffice?

I recall a thread previously about not much can be changed on the vRS just track rod ends for toe in/out which is tracking.

Mate from work has offered to fit some coilovers if I get them for free so saves me £150 fitting etc. and i can get alignment for £15 from the garage where all my cars have gone for work.

if the coilovers are new then just the toe tracking should be OK (i would think). I'd only get a full check if they were second hand (just case they've had a hit etc).

Only front toe adjustment possible - so yes basic alignment will be fine. Just make sure you set the struts are set at exactly the same height (for the fronts, then the rears). I usually count number of threads remaining with my finger nail then write it down so I don't forget. Then just make sure the opposite side matches that.

thought as much, coilovers to be fitted shortly then ;)

cheers guys

I have mine set at different thread heights on the coilovers as when they are set level the drivers side sits lower than the passenger's side. Is that wrong?

Sounds like something isn't right, are you sure they are fitted 100 percent correctly.

Might just be that side has more weight, but double check everythings how it should be

Getting a "full" geometry check and adjust done can't be a bad thing as you seem to be wanting to improve your car.

Everything is fitted correctly.

It's not a huge difference, about 2 threads.
