Driver jailed for 192 on country roads

Featured Replies

And so he should be, crazy speeds...

Unlike Germany, we dont get training in high speed driving...and even if you are a great driver its other drivers on the road which are the biggest concerns.

Jeeez. We've all driven above the limit but this is rediculous. He's obviously not short of cash so why couldn't he pay to do it somewhere away from members of the public. There enless amounts of track days and airfield runs.

Silly billy!

Well deserved! Idiot risking his daughters life.

Agreed. And if you're going to drive fast do it with no passengers in the car.

Sounds like the daughter was aiding and abetting as she also got punished.

I've just read I the paper he was driving an M5, RS6 and GT-R. He shouldn't be allowed to drive again in my opinion.

Forget his daughter, I'm just glad he didn't kill anyone innocent with his idiocy.

Looks like he won't be (legally) driving for a while, he got a 10 year ban with that.

What a tool. I wouldn't even trust him on the Autobahn... purely reckless.

I also wouldn't want him on a track day either!

Are they not all restricted to 155?

Or are they trivial to derestrict?

Not all of them. And certainly not when they're remapped/tuned.

10 year ban for driving fast. 1 year ban for drink driving. Don't think driving fast is 10 times more dangerous than drink driving! His 23 year old daughter got banned for 2 years! She was a passenger in a fully legal car with a legal driver so nothing to do with her.

The legal systems amazes me at times.

10 year ban for driving fast. 1 year ban for drink driving.

These aren't blanket ban periods - it all depends on the individual circumstances of the case. For this one, they appear to have evidence of this on multiple occasions, in different cars. So the punishment reflects that.

The ban period for drink driving is quite often longer than the one you've quoted.

Lots of jumping to conclusions as usual.

More INFO might help.  Who's cars, Trade or Owned, insured by who, any cars registered to the daughter etc.

What is the name of the speeder Sean or Shaun Davis? The linked article has both spelling.

EDIT.

i see it is Shaun. not Sean.

Remind me never to get a lift from anyone........wouldn't want the chance of my licence getting hit for their driving.

Anyway being serious, glad he's banned as they are totally stupid speeds!

Maybe so, but as a parent, he should know better. Let's hope he doesn't get out early.

The problem with these extreme cases is they are used to justify clamping down on the general motoring public, more cameras and reduced tolerances. It tends to promote an image that it's going on all the time when it's not. So we all suffer the consequence in the end.

GTR's not restricted anyway.

Trust me.. Haha.

Audi, BMW, Mercedes etc just charge you a thousand or 2 extra and you get the derestricted version.

Same car as you were buying, same metal, glass, rubber and plastic, just your wallet is lighter.

Is this not the same guy from a previous thread. The track day when a guy in a GTR hit another car, think it was a Porsche and had been driving like a hanker all day

Not sure it's the same bloke, but I do know what you're on about. It was a McLaren MP4-12C he hit, after driving like a pillock on track!

I knew it was a fast car, just couldn't remember what one, cheers.
