Group Password Management Software

Featured Replies

I'm coming up blank trying to find a piece of software and wondered if you Brisky lot had any ideas.

We need a multi user password manager application, that we can use to store and view passwords for applications, 3rd party systems etc.

We can then grant groups of users permission to read certain sets of passwords, and other groups the ability to add new and edit existing passwords.

It needs to have the following:

Individual log in access for each user (whether via windows authentication or not)

Assign each user account to one or multiple permission groups.

Custom defined password groups

Assign each password to a specific user.

Set read, read all or edit permissions to each security group; so users in "Sec Group A" can view only passwords linked to their account in "PW Group 1", but see all passwords in "PW Group 2" etc.

Ideally a SQL database.

I hope this makes sense.

I can only recommend either 1password or Keepass but they dont do everything you require.

Try Password State http://www.clickstudios.com.au/

Integrates with AD and has extra security features to further protect your sensitive passwords.

Not quite sure whether it's what you were after, and I could have sworn I'd already posted it in this thread, but Nervepoint Access Manager could be worth a look.

Lastpass is a good solution that we use at work.

I would guess this is a priority now another fatal, unrepairable flaw has been found in M$ password management for networks.

We're not using any commercially available software for this currently, we're using an in house application.

After looking at several quotes from some of the suggested, we're simply going to redesign this in house to meet our new needs. We can tie it in with other existing internal systems then :)

Thanks for the suggestions :)

Top story on "The Register" for the last two days.

Never mind, can't delete the post so will just edit it instead to avoid any further frustration.
