Testing window motor

Featured Replies

Hi,

Currently having trouble with my electric windows - drivers side doesn't work, passenger side works intermittently.

I've removed the motor from the drivers side but don't see any obvious way of testing it - I.e. I can't identify two pins I can apply power across to see if the motor operates.

Anyone have any pointers on how to test a window motor?

Many thanks

Take the module apart more. IIRC (it was a while ago so I might not be remembering correctly) you soon get to a stage where you can completely pull out the motor, then put some volts across its pins to see what happens.

Sometimes it's the door switches. I had intermittent problems with my windows so fitted new genuine Skoda switches and have had no further problems.

Also make sure there are no broken wires inside the rubber trunking between door and body. I had that happen as well.
