fuel filler cap retaining strap

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Anyone able to give me a part number for the rubber bungee strap that keeps the filler cap attached to the car? And more importantly can a new one be retro fitted to the filler neck and cap? Mine has perished and is looking like it's going to be in two parts in the near future.

Thanks

That's just reminded me that mine snapped last time I filled up.

Got to buy complete cap on all VAG motors

Mine perished on my octy2.  I joined it back together with a piece of rubber tube that the tether fitted into quite tightly.  Heated tube in hot water beforehand to make more pliable & applied some dishwashing detergent to make slipperier.  Seems OK & cost nothing

scrappy for a spare

Just bought one from ebay at £3.11. At first it looked identical to present one but this one seems to be too thick plus slightly oversize in diameter, As having to pay return postage I will "muck" around it if I can make it fit.
