Help Soiled Leather Seat

Featured Replies

I had leather fitted by Seatsurgeons approx 1 month and very happy with it. The drivers seat has a dark grey mark on the drivers seat insert. Ive tried the wet wipe cleaners seat surgeons gave me and also Autoglymn leather cleaner but both wont shift it and the cloth is clean when I have rubbed it. I think it has come of a new coat I have recently worn but Im not sure. It looks like the stain is grained into the leather. Any one any ideas on how I can shift it.

Cheers

:(

bit of shoe polish perhaps.

i am no expert and recomend you speak to seat surgeons tbh

Mine have become a bit grubby over time. I've found that a regular clean with some proper fluid makes them look as new. The drivers seat has also started to become a little slack in the insert.

Zymol Leather Cleaner (the orange spray) is very good.

Give them a bell, I'm sure they'll be happy to help.

I will drop them an email with a photo Im sure there is an easy way. looks like the coats has dyed it but Im no expert either.

 Never one to say I told you so, but................

A friend of mine had her Corsa seats trimmed in a rather fetching combination of cream and purple leather. The squab went baggy after 9 months (seem to remember recounting this story a few months ago :P )

'Soiling' your seat usually means you 'sh@t' on it...

Try shoe polish as already suggested :)

I can always go and ask Paul in person

Hi Guys

Ive emailed Paul and he thinks that there is no way to clean it and it will require replacing. Ive spoke to next about the coat which is only 3 weeks old itself and they are going to send it away for testing. Dont know what will happen but Im totally gutted at the mo. Hopefully next will foot the bill for a replacement but I cant see it myself.

T-1000 is there any chance of a few piccies?

Its deffinatley the coat just rubbed a white hanky on it and a load of black dye come off onto the hanky. Let battle commence!

Good luck dude.

I had the same effect a while back when i got in the car after being on a job where my **** got a bit mucky. Once I got home a good bit of elbow grease got it out, but it wasn't in as bad a state as yours is in.

the covering looks a little soft tbh,"looks" nought more than the "grippy"covering you buy for the dash.looks like the stuff people use to make gear shift gaitors out of.

i hope i'm wrong and you get it sorted.

Dont know if anyone is interested but Next will foot the bill for the new seat. To be fair they were very good the coat was up to there standard but cause there was no warning on it that the dye can run they have decided to pay out. Just goes to show you still have to be very carefull with leather.

Indeed you have to be very careful with the leather. Glad to hear that you are being compensated for your woes, T-1000.

nice one. Hopefully this will solve the baggy squab too !
