New Car Discount

Seems giving good discounts on new cars

See Advice re-buying thread below some info on that.

I use car wow , you buy through genuine dealers , they compete for your business and you know who they are but do not know who you are , huge discounts

Not heard of them. I can recommend buyanewcaronline.Co.UK though. I purchased a vrs diesel with a hefty discount (well beyond the best from car wow or similar. It arrived on time with the specified options except for a Skoda caused problem (free sat nav update was a limited offer). The team have though made an acceptable offer to rectify with no protracted argument required.

We saved £2796 ! On a car which every dealer said nothing off and 0% finance and car value of trade still same for the four months ahead due to built to order, just went on to buyanewcaronline.co.uk and they do not do the latest cars , the model we are buying is not listed

Might be worth dropping them an email or calling. The web site is a bit basic. I saved almost £5750 of list price for a car built to my spec.

Yes, as on the other thread I used new-car-discount.com and took delivery yesterday. No complaints at all.

Saved over 6k!

Car ordered , trust me dealer said I don't know how you managed it. to get so much off making £50, you order direct from dealer they just priced matched my best car wow offer from elsewhere in the country , what car did you order, there must be one hell of a mark up, other marks including vag were silly money off but they are worth peanuts in three years

Bought from NCD just last week. All OK for me and excellent discount...

I bought my MKII Octy Scout brand new via an online broker in 2010 as it was cheaper to do so than even a 3 year old Scout; (£18,250 (with options) compared with approximately £22,750 at dealership).

I recently noted they were doing the MKIII Scout with approximately £5000-5500 off list.

Now if only I qualified for Tax Free!

Bought my new Superb from them,

21% discount (over £7K off)

The car is built and waiting for it to be delivered to me on the 30th.

Nick is always very prompt at replying to emails etc.

One thing I would say though is if you want to know your build week and be informed every step of the way then maybe they are not ideal for you as you will get none of that... that said with a 21% saving I can live with that!

All depends on what car you're looking at of course, and how keen dealers are to shift them

£7-10k discount isn't hugely uncommon........ but it all depends on the car!

I tend to get the best price from online sites, and then walk in to my local dealers and ask them to match it. It has worked fine with my last VW, BMW and VRS. Sometimes they put up a bit of a fight, but I just give them a take it or leave it offer and walk away. With my VRS the dealer refused to match at first, so I left them my number and received a call a few days later saying okay then, we can do it. I got 7% discount, plus 0% APR over 42 months, plus 3 years free servicing on my VRS TSI. This was almost 2-years ago when VRS discounts were harder to achieve.

As I used to work in the car leasing industry I made sure they were kosher. They are in fact a subsidiary of a big finance company.  I can highly recommend them, the guy I dealt with comes from the motor industry and certainly knows his stuff. A piece of advice, pay the deposit on a credit (no additional charges) then pay the balance as you require, that way if there is a major problem you can get a full refund of the price of the car from the credit card company although you only paid the deposit with the card. In conclusion if you know what car you want and in my case got 20.5% discount on my Octavia VRS TSI DSG then it's a no brainer.

I was looking at New Car Wow, and it seems the cost of some of the options is more than it is through SUK. Eg Columbus is £600 through SUK but £1,050 through NCW. This seems rather odd

Coast to coast seems to be best deal i can find at the moment

Don't know which model you're referring to but in my Octavia  brochure (July 2015) the RRP of Columbus is either £1,600 or £1,050 depending on the model, that is whether it comes with Amundsen as standard or not. You didn't miss a 0 off the SUK price by any chance?

Cheapest I've seen the Columbus option is £875, on the Superb (SE Business trim).

Some of these guys were doing discounts on the 230 vRS but can not see any now

Try Carfile ...... They appear to be doing 12.5% off the 230. Not as good as the 20+ % discounts that were available .... But might be of interest.

It's £600 on the SUK site for Columbus in a vrs Octy

Might be worth contacting them to check they can not do something on the 230, or you already tried?

I have  tried, yeah, they say its just the same as in the 'showroom'!!

Yup, see what you mean. It looks like Skoda have quite radically altered the spec mix as well as prices. When I ordered mine in September adding Columbus included in the price Smartlink, wifi, bluetooth etc. Now it seems they have stripped out all that stuff so your £600 buys you only the satnav functions and you have to add other things separately if you want them. Also, when it comes to wifi/bluetooth the options are rather confusing with different options costing either £50 for basic bluetooth up to £550 for "Premium WLAN with phone box"! In either case smartlink is £150 on top. So, not quite apples with apples, but still cheaper now anyway, though not by so much as first appears!

Is this the MY16.5 changes finally coming through? It seems to have been very quiet with no information at all until now.
